al747. Posted January 1, 2014. I recently bought a 2004 400EX that runs fine when you bumpstart it but will not start the normal way. The previous owner said that it "will need a ground sorted for the electric start to work". I am not sure what that means but I took off the plastics to make sure that all the wires look intact.
