Abstract. The role of the nose in health and in respiration has been greatly neglected by physicians. Ignorance of nasopulmonary activity persists despite more than a century of basic physiological research, clinical experience, and, more recently, availability of specialized equipment for nasorespiratory and nasopulmonary testing.
