Iwe ford f150 noise

Turns out it's an IWE issue. The 4x4 wants to engage for a moment and you get metal on metal. There's a TSB on it. They did the work under warranty and replaced the check valves. Do a search on YouTube under F150 IWE noise and you'll find some surprising similarities lol. Anyway, I left it at the dealer for about 2 hours and I was good to go.

Shifting in/out of 4X4, and noise disappears going into 4H, usually indicates an IWE problem. Doesn't matter the mileage, it can happen at anytime. Sounds somewhat like you're describing a wheelbearing, but noise disappearing is a pretty good indications of an IWE.
